I built Naviquant around a disciplined, systematic process — one designed to reduce the role emotion plays in investment decisions and to respond to changing market conditions in a consistent way. Born and raised in France, Jocelyn earned his MBA from the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III, and spent the final year of his graduate studies at the School of Business Administration at Portland State University, focused on the management and development of small to mid-size companies.
He began his career in the financial services industry in the early 2000s and later joined Complete Financial Services as a partner, where he led the corporate retirement plans division. In 2011, Jocelyn established JPS Newton, expanding his focus on fiduciary advisory and risk management.
His continued research into systematic investment models led directly to the founding of Naviquant Capital Management — the active, quantitative investment boutique he leads today.
The name fuses navigate with quantitative, and intentionally echoes the French naviguant — sailing.
On one hand it reflects our desire to help clients steer their financial life in the right direction; on the other, it represents the quantitative, systematic approach we take to portfolio management.
